For almost 20 years, I drove commercial growth in banking, leading strategy across customer and product portfolios in Hong Kong and globally. But over time, I noticed a deeper pattern: behind every financial decision was a human story, often unspoken and always complex.

One early experience stayed with me. I was invited to observe a meeting with a high-net-worth client. The client spoke with confidence about markets and strategies. Then the relationship manager asked gently:

“You seem to know exactly what to do. What’s holding you back?”

The room fell silent. That moment shifted everything from numbers to nuance, from performance to reflection.

The deal went through. But what lingered with me was this: People don’t always need more advice. They need someone who sees the whole picture and helps them clarify their terms.

Over time, I heard sharing around the pressure of “doing things the right way", and many highly capable next-gen leaders hesitate to act boldly, especially when the path ahead feels emotionally charged or deeply personal.

It became clear: the challenges of legacy are rarely just financial. Behind them are questions about identity, trust, and navigating generational expectations with integrity.

That understanding inspired me to shift paths. Today, I support rising leaders through a hybrid approach—coach, mentor, and advisor—grounded in experience and education.
